INTRINSIC GRAY - take away exhibition

MFA project about visual perception and interactive exhibition design. I wanted to question the gallery space and make an exhibition that the visitors can take with them and experience anywhere. The exhibition itself is abstract and my aim was to investigate how to talk about things that can’t be seen, documented or shared. The outcome of the project was a folder, containing instructions on how to experience closed-eye visualizations (CEV). The exhibition takes place behind closed eyes and is a personal exhibition that appears different for every viewer. Closed-Eye Visualizations (CEV) are a kind of hallucinations that occurs in complete darkness or behind closed eyes. My goal was to explore how far the term exhibition could be stretched. Is it still an exhibition if no-one has the same experience? Does we ever completely share an experiences anyway or is everything perceived through a filter of previously memories and experiences?
